Abstract

The success of early childhood education is a reflection of the quality of education, for this reason it is necessary to improve the quality of early childhood learning by paying attention to HOTS (Higher, Order, Thinking, Skill) at every stage of development. by carrying out and implementing a learning model containing MELESAT (Mathematics, Existence, Literacy, Engineering, Art, Technology) to build the foundation for the profile of early childhood Pancasila students, in welcoming the 21st century era of education. This research uses a qualitative approach based on a phenomenological perspective, with interview techniques, observation, documentation. This research aims to observe and understand the increase in HOTS for early childhood by using a learning model containing MELESAT (Mathematics, Existence, Literacy, Engineering, Art, Technology) through recognizing, remembering information and facts, understanding information, doing facts, analyzing, evaluating. Through MELESAT children can plan to make choices which are part of the child's sense of self-confidence, self-confidence is an initial need before children learn about other knowledge. The MELESAT learning model which has elements of creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration is one of the learning models that can improve HOTS in early childhood.
