Abstract

The teaching and learning process will run well if it takes place in pleasant, conducive, and interesting situations and conditions. One interesting learning model is Index Card Match. The Index Card Match learning model is a strategy used to repeat material by matching cards containing questions and answers. One of the lessons in MA Darut Taqwa is the history of Islamic culture. Based on observations it is known that class XII IPS students are less active during the lesson. this is due to learning strategies that are less attractive so that students feel bored. Students who are less active during learning lead to low learning outcomes. So this research was conducted to increase the activity and learning outcomes of students in Islamic cultural history subjects through the Index Card Match learning model. The formulation of the problem in this study is how active, responsive and student learning outcomes are when learning the history of Islamic culture using the Index Card Match model? The methods used to collect data are observation, tests and questionnaires. The results of this study indicate an increase in both student activity, teacher performance, response and student learning outcomes. Student activeness increased from the initial condition with an average percentage of activeness of 42.11% to 66.92% in cycle I and increased to 83.16% in cycle II. Meanwhile, teacher performance increased from 69.60% in cycle I to 89.60% in cycle II. Then the average percentage of student responses increased from cycle I, namely 65.13% to 85.58% in cycle II. The percentage of classical completeness in the initial conditions was 15.79% of students who passed became 47.37% of students who passed in cycle I. Then it increased in cycle II to 84.21% of students who passed.
