Abstract

This research aims to explore how digital technology can be effectively utilized in shaping children's character. With the rapid development of various digital technologies, schools, teachers, and students can optimize these tools based on their capabilities and available resources. The study employs an integrative literature review approach, which synthesizes various articles, books, and other published works that are empirical or research-based on the role of digital competence in character development and its application in modern education. The study concludes that character values that can be nurtured through the learning process include: religiousness, honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creativity, independence, democracy, curiosity, patriotism, love for the homeland, respect for achievement, friendliness, peace, love of reading, environmental consciousness, social awareness, and responsibility. The benefits of digital technology in education encompass: 1) broader access to information; 2) interactive learning opportunities; 3) flexibility in time and location; 4) increased efficiency; 5) enhanced digital skills; 6) improved collaboration and communication; 7) access to educational resources; 8) fostering creativity; 9) cost savings; and 10) improvements in educational quality. To shape children's character through digital technology, methods include: 1) utilizing educational applications; 2) using online educational content; 3) implementing online learning; 4) engaging with social media; and 5) fostering digital skills development..
