Model Fanatisme Remaja Syekhermania: Studi Fenomenologi Psikologi Sosial di Gresik

Abstract

This study was conducted to explain and understand the form of fanaticism of teenagers who are active in the Gresik syekhermania community based on a social psychology perspective. The research method used is a qualitative research method through a phenomenological approach to describe the context of the phenomenon in this study. Teenagers aged 16 to 18 years are the characteristics of research participants, of course those who are actively involved in the syekhermania community, namely lovers of the Prophet Muhammad's shalawat through the sholawat assembly led by Habib Syekh bin Abdul Qodir Assegaf. In-depth interviews as a data collection technique were conducted on two syekhermania teenagers from Gresik. The data obtained based on the results of the interview were compiled through five stages, including a) making a list of expressions from participant answers or responses, b) reducing, c) compiling clusters and writing themes, d) validating expressions, labeling expressions and themes, e) making Individual Textural Description (ITD). The results of the study show that to fulfill the need for spiritualism, some teenagers prefer to be active in religious communities such as syekehrmania in the hope of getting closer to Allah SWT as well as a form of love and longing for the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The form of syekehrmania fanaticism is manifested in positive things such as collecting syekehrmania attributes ranging from syekehrmania merchandise such as key chains, t-shirts, to flags with pictures of Habib Syekh or large sized syekehrmania logos and a commitment to always attend the dhikr assembly activities even though it is raining heavily. In addition, syekehrmania members support and remind each other to be consistent in attending the dhikr assembly and maintaining their respective worship so that they get closer to Allah SWT through the assembly with pious people.
