Author Guidelines

 

Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts to FATAWA: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam that have not been published previously and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All submissions must fall within the journal's Aim and Scope and contribute to the advancement of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam) through high-quality empirical, theoretical, conceptual, or review research.

1. Manuscript Types

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Systematic Literature Reviews
  • Conceptual Papers
  • Case Studies
  • Design-Based Research

2. Language

Manuscripts must be written in English using clear, concise, and academically appropriate language.

3. Manuscript Format

Authors should prepare their manuscripts using the official FATAWA Journal Template. Manuscripts should generally contain the following sections:

  • Title
  • Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
  • Abstract (150–250 words)
  • Keywords (3–7 keywords)
  • Introduction
  • Research Method
  • Results and Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Acknowledgements (optional)
  • References

4. Manuscript Length

The recommended manuscript length is 5,000–8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.

5. References

  • References should primarily consist of recent scholarly publications.
  • Authors are encouraged to cite relevant international journal articles published within the last ten years.
  • All references must be prepared using the APA 7th Edition citation style.
  • The use of reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote is strongly recommended.

6. Originality

Submitted manuscripts must be original and free from plagiarism. Every manuscript will be screened using Turnitin before entering the peer-review process. The recommended similarity index is no more than 20%, excluding references and properly quoted material.

7. Peer Review

All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer-review process involving at least two independent reviewers. Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts before a final editorial decision is made.

8. Ethical Standards

Authors must comply with the journal's Publication Ethics and follow internationally recognized standards of responsible research and publication. Data fabrication, data falsification, plagiarism, duplicate submission, and inappropriate authorship are strictly prohibited.

9. Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools is permitted only as a writing or language assistance tool. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, interpretation, and integrity of all submitted work. AI tools must not be listed as authors, and significant AI assistance must be disclosed in the manuscript.

10. Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's Online Submission System. Authors should ensure that all required metadata, author information, and supplementary files are completed before submission.

12. Copyright

Authors retain copyright to their published work while granting the journal the right to publish and disseminate the article according to the journal's copyright and licensing policy.

Authors are encouraged to carefully read all journal policies before submitting a manuscript to ensure a smooth review and publication process.
