Reviewers Guidelines

Thank you for serving as a reviewer for FATAWA: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam. Peer reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the quality, integrity, and academic standards of the journal. All manuscripts are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process, ensuring that the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and constructively.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and related materials.
  • Declare any potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.
  • Complete the review within the requested review period.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based, and respectful comments that help authors improve their manuscripts.
  • Report any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, ethical misconduct, or research irregularities to the Editor.

Review Criteria

Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts based on the following aspects:

  1. Originality – The manuscript presents novel and meaningful contributions to the field of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam).
  2. Relevance – The topic aligns with the aims and scope of FATAWA: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam.
  3. Literature Review – The manuscript demonstrates adequate engagement with recent and relevant scholarly literature.
  4. Methodological Quality – The research design, methods, data collection, and analysis are appropriate, rigorous, and clearly described.
  5. Results and Discussion – Findings are clearly presented, logically interpreted, and supported by evidence.
  6. Conclusion – The conclusion reflects the research findings and highlights theoretical or practical contributions.
  7. Language and Presentation – The manuscript is well organized, clearly written, and follows the journal's formatting guidelines.
  8. References – References are relevant, accurate, and formatted according to the journal's citation style.

Reviewer Recommendations

At the end of the review, reviewers should recommend one of the following editorial decisions:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

Reviewers are encouraged to distinguish between comments intended for the authors and confidential comments intended only for the Editor.

Ethical Standards

Reviewers must comply with the ethical principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). They should not use any unpublished information obtained during the review process for personal research or other purposes. Any suspected ethical concerns, including plagiarism, fabricated data, duplicate submission, or conflicts of interest, should be reported immediately to the Editorial Office.
