Reference Manager Usage

FATAWA: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam requires all authors to use reference management software in preparing their manuscripts. The use of reference managers ensures consistency, accuracy, and completeness of citations and references while minimizing formatting errors and improving the overall quality of scholarly manuscripts.

Recommended Reference Managers

Authors are encouraged to use one of the following reference management applications:

  • Mendeley Reference Manager
  • Zotero
  • EndNote

These applications facilitate citation management, bibliography generation, and compliance with the journal's citation style.

Citation Style

All manuscripts submitted to FATAWA: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam must use the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition citation and referencing style.

Authors should ensure that:

  • Every in-text citation appears in the reference list.
  • Every reference listed is cited within the manuscript.
  • DOI information is included whenever available.
  • References are generated using the selected APA 7th Edition style through a reference management application.

Reference Requirements

Authors are expected to comply with the following reference standards:

  • Field Research Articles: A minimum of 25 references is required.
  • Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and Literature Review Articles: A minimum of 40 references is required.
  • At least 80% of all references must be obtained from primary sources, particularly peer-reviewed journal articles.
  • At least 70% of the references should have been published within the last ten (10) years.
  • References must be directly relevant to the topic and contribute to the advancement of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam).
  • Authors are strongly encouraged to cite reputable international and nationally accredited journals whenever appropriate.

  • Every reference listed has been cited in the manuscript.
  • DOI information has been included whenever available.
  • The minimum number of references required for the manuscript type has been fulfilled.
  • References are accurate, complete, relevant, and up to date.

Manuscripts that do not comply with these reference requirements may be returned to the authors for revision before proceeding to the peer-review process.
